Job Overview:
The Communication Manager for CRS RDC is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive communication strategy aimed at increasing the visibility of the national program among targeted audiences, including donors, partners, local media, national and local governments, the Catholic Church, and others. This role requires close collaboration with the leadership team and regional communication staff to ensure strategic alignment of communications, consistent messaging, and a strong brand identity. The Communication Manager will create content and utilize effective communication channels to position CRS RDC for funding and influence. The position demands a proactive approach to communication, ensuring that the organization's messages resonate with various stakeholders and effectively promote the organization's mission and programs. The Communication Manager will also be responsible for managing social media platforms and creating content that adheres to the agency's policies, thereby enhancing the organization's online presence and engagement with the community.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include coordinating with regional communication staff to create and implement a robust communication strategy that supports the national program's strategic objectives and aligns with regional and agency strategies. The Communication Manager will work with senior management to support CRS's representation in the DRC, drafting, designing, and managing the production of compelling communication and marketing materials such as articles, photos, videos, fact sheets, and brochures for various audiences, including public and private donors, local and national governments, local churches, partners, and media. The role also involves managing local creatives in the production of marketing materials, serving as the primary contact for local media, and helping to identify relevant spokespersons with the approval of country management and the regional media team. The Communication Manager will assist in developing tailored messages for each audience and identifying effective distribution channels to disseminate communication materials to key audiences under the supervision of regional communication staff. Additionally, the role includes providing marketing and communication support for events, training and coaching relevant program staff and partners on best communication practices, and ensuring compliance with donor branding and marketing standards for all produced materials.

Required Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications include experience with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign. Candidates should demonstrate a successful track record of disseminating information to diverse target audiences, possess strong Microsoft Office skills, and have the ability to influence without direct authority. The role requires the capacity and willingness to work effectively with diverse employees and clients in a cooperative and friendly manner, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Candidates must also exhibit personal accountability, integrity, trustworthiness, collaboration, and openness to learning.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, or a related field is required. Experience in international NGOs or the United Nations is preferred, along with 2 to 5 years of progressive experience in marketing and communication, ideally within an NGO or other organization focused on development and relief programs.

Experience:
Candidates should have 2 to 5 years of progressive experience in marketing and communication, preferably in an NGO or similar organization involved in development and relief efforts. This experience should demonstrate the ability to manage communication strategies effectively and engage with various stakeholders.

Languages:
Mandatory languages for this position include French, English, and Swahili, as these are essential for performing the job effectively. Proficiency in these languages will facilitate communication with diverse audiences and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
The position may require travel up to 85%. There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this role.
