Job Overview: The Online Volunteer for Grant Proposals will play a crucial role in supporting EACO's mission by assisting the project coordinator in searching for grant applications relevant to agriculture, water, hygiene, sanitation, and human rights. The volunteer will collaborate closely with the project coordinator to develop grant proposals that align with EACO's objectives. This position is vital for ensuring that EACO meets its deadlines for submitting grant applications, thereby enhancing the organization's ability to secure funding for its initiatives. The volunteer will not be responsible for submitting the applications but will provide essential support in the preparation process, ensuring that all necessary information is included and that the proposals are well-crafted and compelling.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the project coordinator to identify potential grant opportunities in the fields of agriculture, water, hygiene, sanitation, and human rights.
Assist in researching and gathering relevant data and information needed for grant proposals.
Help in drafting and editing grant proposals to ensure clarity, coherence, and alignment with EACO's mission and objectives.
Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop innovative ideas for grant applications.
Review and revise proposals based on feedback from the project coordinator and other stakeholders.
Maintain organized records of grant applications and related documents.
Stay updated on trends and best practices in grant writing and funding opportunities.
Support the project coordinator in preparing for submission of grant applications, ensuring all components are complete and submitted on time.
Required Qualifications:
Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
Familiarity with grant writing processes and requirements is preferred but not mandatory.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take direction from the project coordinator.
Strong research skills to identify relevant grant opportunities and gather necessary information.
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
A commitment to EACO's mission and values, particularly in supporting vulnerable populations.
Educational Background: A background in social sciences, development studies, public health, or a related field is preferred. However, candidates with relevant experience and skills may also be considered regardless of formal educational qualifications.
