Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Assistant(e) Technique WASH include ensuring adherence to NRC policies, tools, manuals, and guidelines. The individual will assist in implementing the WASH program portfolio according to the action plan and will be responsible for organizing and executing tasks based on priorities and standards. They will develop and maintain specialized knowledge in the WASH field to provide effective support to the team. The Assistant(e) will demonstrate initiative in resolving daily issues in line with agreed procedures and priorities. Responsibilities also include preparing reports as required, ensuring proper document filing, facilitating community mobilization, and supporting the establishment and training of local WASH management structures. The Assistant(e) will contribute to identifying needs for specific assessments, participate in defining contextual themes and messages, collect and share evidence sources for WASH activities, and follow up on the procurement process for goods and services related to WASH activities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a minimum of a university degree (equivalent to BAC+3) in social sciences, local development, public health, health promotion, anthropology, or a related field. A deep understanding of the humanitarian context in the assigned territories and health zones is essential. Knowledge of standards, particularly SPHERE, and proven experience in behavior change theory and approaches are required. Candidates should have experience working with communities using participatory methodologies and community mobilization techniques. Strong planning and monitoring skills are necessary, along with knowledge of qualitative data interpretation and analysis software.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes at least a university degree (equivalent to BAC+3) in relevant fields such as social sciences, local development, public health, health promotion, or anthropology. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of the WASH sector and effectively engaging with communities and stakeholders.

Experience:
Candidates should have professional experience in the WASH technical field, with a focus on community mobilization, awareness-raising, and capacity building. Experience with an NGO, preferably in an international context within emergency humanitarian settings, is highly desirable. The ability to travel and work regularly in the field, particularly in complex and volatile contexts, is also required.

Languages:
Fluency in French, both written and spoken, is mandatory. Proficiency in Swahili is also required, and knowledge of local languages in the intervention area is considered an asset. Strong communication skills in these languages are essential for effective community engagement and reporting.
