Job Overview:
The Logistics Responsible plays a crucial role in supporting the Logistics Coordinator by overseeing the logistical activities of the mission. This position is essential for ensuring the smooth implementation of Solidarités International's programs within the country. The Logistics Responsible will contribute to the development and application of logistics procedures and tools, ensuring compliance with organizational standards. This role involves participating in mission strategy discussions, project design, and assessing the logistical resources necessary to support various activities. In the absence of the Logistics Coordinator or Field Logistics Manager, the Logistics Responsible will act as the logistics focal point, maintaining operational continuity and serving as the liaison between field bases and coordination on logistics matters. The first two to three months will focus on understanding the mission's context, building relationships with field teams, familiarizing oneself with logistics tools and procedures, and providing support and capacity building to field teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Responsible will have a variety of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: supporting the Logistics Coordinator in overseeing logistical activities, ensuring compliance with logistics procedures, participating in mission strategy discussions, assessing logistical resources, acting as the logistics focal point in the absence of the Logistics Coordinator, building relationships with field teams, providing ongoing support and capacity building, ensuring adherence to security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security regulations, and maintaining effective communication between field bases and coordination. Additionally, the Logistics Responsible will be involved in fleet management, stock management, procurement processes, customs clearance procedures, and logistics reporting.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related field. Training or professional certifications in logistics or supply chain management are advantageous. A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector is required, with at least 1-2 years in a similar position. Candidates should have a strong background in humanitarian logistics management, including fleet, stock, IT, and asset management, as well as experience in team supervision and capacity building.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration or an equivalent field. Additional training or certifications related to logistics or supply chain management are considered a plus, enhancing the candidate's qualifications for the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 1-2 years in a similar logistics role. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in humanitarian logistics management, including fleet management, stock management, and compliance with organizational standards. Experience in team supervision and capacity building is also essential for this role.

Languages:
Fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in these languages is crucial for effective communication and collaboration within the organization and with local communities.

Additional Notes:
This is a salaried position with a monthly gross salary of 1,620 USD, along with a comprehensive benefits package. The position is based in Damascus, Syria, with frequent travel throughout the country. The duration of the mission is 6 months, subject to renewal or extension.
