Job Overview: In this role, you will serve as a creative strategist and experience design leader, responsible for translating complex ideas into visually compelling and emotionally resonant experiences. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping how audiences interact with the Foundation's brand and mission. You will lead the strategy and creative development of globally relevant exhibits, installations, and brand activations, ensuring that these experiences are cohesive across various touchpoints and designed for both in-person engagement and digital reach. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing partnerships to ensure that the brand experiences align with the Foundation's strategic priorities and resonate with diverse audiences.
Duties and Responsibilities: Your primary responsibilities will include leading the creative direction and experience design of exhibits, installations, and activations, ensuring that these experiences are visually compelling and aligned with the Foundation's mission. You will embed a multi-channel mindset into the design process, ensuring that activations are conceived for execution across physical, digital, and social platforms. Additionally, you will develop and oversee a cohesive strategy for exhibits and brand activations in collaboration with various stakeholders, ensuring that experiences effectively communicate the Foundation's mission. You will also steward and evolve the Foundation's brand visual design system, providing strategic guidance to ensure consistent application across installations and activations. Furthermore, you will manage vendor selection and budgets, set production timelines, and coordinate with partners to deliver high-quality experiences on schedule. Your role will also involve collaborating with the brand storytelling lead to craft compelling narratives that anchor exhibits and activations in human-centered storytelling, ultimately driving meaningful audience engagement and measurable impact.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced degree in Design, Experience Design, Graphic Design, Communications, Marketing, Fine Arts, or a related field, along with demonstrated experience or equivalent qualifications. A proven track record of 8–10+ years in leading creative development for exhibits and experiential activations, particularly in international contexts, is essential. Candidates should have the ability to connect physical experiences to digital ecosystems, demonstrating strong visual and spatial design skills across various environments. Experience in leading and evolving brand visual design systems, as well as the ability to work collaboratively across creative and communications teams, is also required. A global perspective and familiarity with global health, development, or social impact communications are highly valued.
Educational Background: An advanced degree in a relevant field such as Design, Experience Design, Graphic Design, Communications, Marketing, Fine Arts, or a related discipline is required for this position. Candidates should have a strong foundation in design principles and experience in applying these principles across various mediums and environments.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 8–10 years of experience in creative development for exhibits, experiential activations, and brand installations, particularly in international settings. Experience in adapting creative concepts to diverse cultural contexts and audiences is crucial, as is the ability to manage multi-partner projects with clear scope and deliverables.
Languages: While multilingual capabilities are preferred, particularly in non-U.S. contexts, they are not mandatory. However, extensive experience working in international environments is strongly preferred, as it enhances the candidate's ability to engage with diverse audiences effectively.

The salary range for this role is between $173,000 to $259,600 USD, with specific adjustments for high-wage markets such as Seattle and Washington D.C., where the range is $190,300 to $285,500 USD. The Foundation strives to balance competitive pay with its mission, and new hires typically fall between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range based on their skills and experience. Candidates must have unrestricted work authorization in the country where this position is located, as the Foundation does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role. The position may require domestic and international travel up to 25%. As part of the hiring process, employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
