Job Overview: The position of Provincial Coordination & Partnerships Support involves working closely with the FAO Country Office and provincial/local counterparts to facilitate effective coordination and implementation of FAO-supported activities. The role requires hands-on support in project implementation, ensuring that planned activities are executed timely and efficiently. The individual will be responsible for maintaining provincial trackers and databases, organizing evidence for monitoring and reporting, and documenting the impact of FAO projects. This position is crucial for strengthening collaboration among stakeholders and enhancing the visibility of FAO's work in the provinces of Madhesh, Koshi, and Sudurpaschim.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support and document regular coordination between the FAO Country Office and provincial/local counterparts, including provincial ministries, DFOs, and municipalities, to strengthen collaboration and ensure smooth delivery of FAO-supported activities.
Provide hands-on implementation support for FAO projects by coordinating with government counterparts and partners, following up on planned activities, mobilizing stakeholders, and ensuring timely execution of interventions across the provinces.
Maintain and update provincial trackers and databases, organizing supporting evidence such as attendance sheets, photos, reports, and approvals to enhance traceability and audit readiness.
Collect field-level evidence and assist in preparing impact and visibility inputs, including photos with captions and beneficiary highlights, to contribute to evidence-based communication and reporting for FAO projects.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. A proactive approach to problem-solving and adaptability to changing circumstances are essential. The role requires a commitment to accountability, professionalism, and self-management, as well as the ability to document and report on project activities effectively.
Educational Background: A relevant degree in agriculture, environmental science, social sciences, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have a solid understanding of sustainable development principles and practices, particularly in the context of agriculture and rural development.
Experience: Candidates should have prior experience in project coordination, implementation support, or related fields, preferably within the context of international development or humanitarian assistance. Experience working with government agencies, NGOs, or UN organizations is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, and proficiency in local languages spoken in the provinces of Madhesh, Koshi, and Sudurpaschim is an advantage. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective stakeholder engagement and reporting.
Additional Notes: This is a national UN Volunteer assignment, and the selected candidate will be responsible for arranging their own housing and living essentials. National UN Volunteers are covered under a malicious insurance plan. The position may require flexibility in working hours and the ability to travel within the provinces as needed.
