Job Description
Job Posting Organization:
UN Women was established in July 2010 as part of the UN reform agenda to enhance gender equality and women's empowerment globally. The organization merges the efforts of four previously distinct parts of the UN system that focused on gender issues. UN Women operates with a mission to eliminate discrimination against women and girls, empower women, and achieve equality between women and men. It works in various countries, including Rwanda, to support Member States in their priorities and efforts towards gender equality, ensuring that marginalized and vulnerable groups of women and girls can fully exercise their rights. UN Women is committed to the principle of Leaving No One Behind, focusing on targeted actions to address barriers faced by women and girls. The Rwanda Country Office leverages its triple mandate—normative, coordination, and operational—to translate global gender standards into national policies and deliver evidence-based programs. The office collaborates with government, civil society, development partners, and the private sector to foster an enabling environment for women and girls, advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and other international commitments.
