Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is located within the Budget, Financial Management and Reporting Section of UNMAS, part of the Office of Rule of Law and Security Institutions (OROLSI) within the Department of Peace Operations (DPO). The internship is designed to provide practical experience in financial management and reporting within a UN context. Interns will work under the supervision of the Finance and Budget Officer, engaging in various tasks that support the financial operations of UNMAS. The internship is flexible, allowing for remote work or a hybrid arrangement, and is available for a duration of six months, starting as early as July 1, 202
  • Interns are expected to contribute to the preparation of financial reports, assist in data organization, and support administrative tasks, all while gaining valuable insights into the workings of the United Nations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: researching, compiling, drafting, and editing information for financial reports and statements; supporting the development of process mapping for project continuity; filing and archiving documentation in both hard and digital formats; assisting in the creation and organization of data in Microsoft Excel for report production; drafting minutes and talking points for meetings; updating and maintaining tasking sheets and priority logs; assisting with special projects as assigned; preparing for meetings and trainings, including contributing to PowerPoint presentations and background documents; drafting routine correspondence related to financial budget matters; providing administrative support to the Chief of Section and Financial Officers; and performing any other related duties as assigned. The internship may be either full-time (35 hours per week) or part-time (20 hours per week).

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: (a) be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent). While professional work experience is not required, a field of study closely related to the internship is necessary. Proficiency in standard word processing and software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential, along with familiarity with office automation equipment.

Educational Background:
Candidates should be pursuing or have completed a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. program. Applicants must provide proof of their academic status, including the title of the degree they are pursuing and their graduation date.
