Job Overview: The Nutrition & coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Health Coordinator will work under the supervision of the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director, ensuring the quality, relevance, and scaling of the Nutrition & Health strategy and interventions within the mission. This role is crucial for aligning the organization's efforts with international standards and national policies, particularly in the context of the Mission's localization agenda. The coordinator will play a significant role in defining the country strategy and the positioning of the Nutrition & Health department. Responsibilities include identifying needs, formulating project proposals, designing and evaluating nutrition and health actions, and monitoring programs in these fields. The coordinator will also be responsible for developing and launching programs in collaboration with governmental and local agencies, managing the Nutrition and Health Program Managers, and representing Action contre la Faim at the local level, ensuring effective coordination and collaboration with other stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Nutrition & Health Coordinator include:
Contributing to the definition of the country strategy and the Nutrition & Health strategy, ensuring alignment with ACF's mission and standards.
Coordinating the identification of needs and formulating project proposals that address those needs effectively.
Designing, developing, and evaluating actions in the fields of nutrition and health, ensuring they meet the required standards.
Monitoring and coordinating programs related to nutrition and health, ensuring they are implemented effectively and efficiently.
Developing and launching programs in collaboration with governmental and local agencies to enhance the impact of interventions.
Managing the Nutrition and Health Program Managers technically, providing guidance and support to ensure program success.
Representing Action contre la Faim at the local level, engaging with various stakeholders to promote the organization's positioning and objectives.
Ensuring compliance with humanitarian principles and standards in all interventions and strategies.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must hold a medical background with a specialization in nutrition, public health, or general medicine. A minimum of 5 years of experience in humanitarian emergency or complex contexts is required, including at least 3 years in a coordination role. Experience with Action Against Hunger is highly desirable. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in managing malnutrition, supporting healthcare organizations, and implementing humanitarian responses in emergency settings. A strong focus on community-based prevention and maternal and child health is essential. Experience working in partnership with local authorities and exposure to outbreak response is considered an asset. Familiarity with nutrition survey methodologies such as SMART, NCA, and SQUEAC is also required. Strong management experience, including team leadership, capacity building, and supervision in demanding and multicultural environments, is necessary.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a medical degree with a specialization in nutrition, public health, or general medicine. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of nutrition and health interventions in humanitarian settings.
Experience: The position requires at least 5 years of relevant experience in humanitarian emergency or complex contexts, with a minimum of 3 years in a coordination role. This experience should include managing malnutrition and implementing humanitarian responses, particularly in emergency settings. Candidates with experience in Action Against Hunger or similar organizations will be preferred.
Languages: Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is mandatory for this position. Additionally, proficiency in Portuguese is required. Knowledge of Italian or Spanish is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate in diverse environments.

The monthly gross salary ranges from 2597 to 2968 euros, depending on experience, and includes a 13th-month salary. Non-French citizens will have their pension insurance reimbursed at 16% of the gross monthly salary. An annual salary increase of 6% is provided after each 12 months of continuous contract. Additional benefits include a monthly per diem and living allowance of 627 euros net, a country allowance of 150 euros, and a child allowance of 1500 euros per year per child present in the country of origin (maximum 6000 euros/year). Transportation and accommodation costs are covered, and ACF provides 100% coverage for health and repatriation insurance fees. Employees are entitled to 25 days of paid leave per year, 20 RnR days, and airfare reimbursement for breaks.
