Job Overview: The Resilience Officer position at WFP Guinea is crucial for managing resilience programs, particularly in agri-business and infrastructure. The incumbent will oversee the Guinea Commercial Agriculture Development project funded by the World Bank and will be responsible for planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of resilience activities. Duties and Responsibilities: The Resilience Officer will coordinate and manage all resilience activities, representing WFP Guinea in external meetings and events. Responsibilities include providing guidance to the Resilience Unit and Sub Office colleagues, maintaining an up-to-date implementation and expenditure plan, and ensuring effective project implementation in collaboration with various WFP units and external stakeholders. The officer will organize incoming missions, prepare briefing notes and presentation materials for management and donors, contribute to strategic documents, and secure funding for new initiatives. Additionally, the officer will manage donor contributions, ensure compliance with donor requirements, and incorporate gender considerations into all activities. The role also involves alerting management to challenges and performing any other duties as required by WFP Guinea.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess proven experience in resilience programming, particularly in managing projects related to agri-business and infrastructure. Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of the humanitarian context in Guinea are essential. The ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and to navigate complex operational environments is crucial. Familiarity with WFP policies and procedures, as well as experience in donor engagement and compliance, will be highly advantageous.
