Job Overview:
The Research Analyst position at the World Bank is designed to support the Office of the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Executive Director for the Africa Group 1 Constituency. This role involves conducting research and analytical duties that align with global challenges and the priorities of the constituency, which includes countries such as Botswana, Kenya, and Uganda. The successful candidate will be responsible for gathering and analyzing data to help develop strategies and programs financed by the WBG. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including constituency members and external partners, to produce high-quality reports and support the Executive Director's interactions with WBG entities. The Research Analyst will also leverage emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to enhance research productivity and communication efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Research Analyst will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including: researching and analyzing data to produce reports that meet the needs of the Office; coordinating the preparation of periodic analyses and information reports; supporting the Office in utilizing AI tools and digital platforms for improved research productivity; participating in meetings and preparing materials as assigned; assisting in the preparation of briefing materials and presentations for the Executive Director; providing high-quality support in a multicultural environment; liaising with contacts in constituency capitals to gather information; managing information and indicators to build and update dashboards for each country; and handling ad hoc duties as assigned by the Executive Director and Alternate Executive Director.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in a relevant field such as Economics, Finance, or Business Administration, along with a minimum of four years of relevant public service experience. A strong understanding of the Sub-Saharan African region and its development needs is essential. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to conduct research and analysis, propose solutions to support strategic goals, and possess advanced skills in information technology and AI applications. Strong written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in diverse teams are also required.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Banking, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of economic development and the analytical skills needed to perform the job effectively.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of four years of relevant experience in public service or a related field. This experience should include working in the Sub-Saharan African region, which will provide valuable insights into the development challenges faced by the constituency countries.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is essential for this position, while knowledge of French and Portuguese is considered an added advantage. Strong communication skills in these languages will enhance the candidate's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and contribute to the office's objectives.

Additional Notes:
This position is a two-year non-renewable term, aimed at individuals who have not previously worked for the World Bank Group or the International Monetary Fund. The role is designed to enhance constituency representation and build analytical capacity within the office.
