  • Its mission is to advise the senior leadership of the United Nations on key trends in technology, guiding the strategic approach of the Organization on these issues. UNODET serves as an advocate and focal point for digital cooperation, engaging with Member States, the technology industry, civil society, and other stakeholders. The organization facilitates multi-stakeholder policy dialogue on digital and emerging technologies and strengthens system-wide coordination within and across the United Nations system. It also supports the follow-up and implementation of the Global Digital Compact, as outlined in A/RES/79/1 Annex
  • Through its leadership, UNODET aims to implement the Secretary-General's vision on digital cooperation, working closely with various UN entities and multi-stakeholder groups to accelerate global digital cooperation and mitigate risks associated with technology, thereby contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.

Job Overview:
The Data Analytics and Front Office Support Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the operations of UNODET. This position involves a variety of tasks that are essential for the smooth functioning of the office. The intern will be responsible for stakeholder and contact management, office coordination, operational support, knowledge and information management, meeting and event preparation, reporting, data organization, and administrative and communications support. The intern will be expected to maintain the quality of stakeholder data across the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, manage record entry, verification, deduplication, and ongoing updates to ensure the database remains accurate and actionable. Additionally, the intern will support data migration and integration workflows, produce regular reports and data visualizations, contribute to knowledge management, assist in the development of meeting materials, and help prepare the office for high-level meetings. This role is designed to provide the intern with hands-on experience in a dynamic international organization, enhancing their skills in data analytics, office management, and stakeholder engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's duties and responsibilities will include: - Maintaining stakeholder data quality across the CRM by managing record entry, verification, deduplication, and ongoing updates. - Supporting data migration and integration workflows by preparing structured spreadsheets and reconciling information across multiple sources. - Producing regular reports and data visualizations in Excel and other tools to support team monitoring, engagement tracking, and analysis. - Contributing to knowledge management by organizing shared repositories, maintaining folder architecture, and ensuring information is current, accurate, and easy to retrieve. - Supporting the development of meeting materials by formatting documents, compiling background data, and ensuring visual consistency. - Assisting with maintaining web pages and public-facing information materials. - Helping prepare the office for high-level meetings by assembling briefing packages, organizing supporting documents, and coordinating logistics. - Supporting day-to-day office operations and producing clear, concise meeting minutes. - Contributing to other operational and administrative tasks as required.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Headquarters Internship Programme, applicants must meet one of the following requirements: - Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); - Be enrolled in the final academic year of a university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); or - Have graduated with a university degree as defined in the previous points. Candidates are encouraged to pursue a broad range of studies, particularly in fields such as Business Administration, Public Administration, International Relations, Communications, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Digital Transformation, Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, Management, Computer Science, or related areas.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this internship includes being enrolled in a graduate school programme or being in the final year of a university degree programme. Candidates should ideally have completed at least four years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards a relevant degree. This educational requirement ensures that the intern possesses the necessary theoretical knowledge and skills to effectively contribute to the work of UNODET.

Experience:
While specific prior experience is not explicitly required for this internship, candidates should demonstrate relevant skills and knowledge in data analytics, office management, and stakeholder engagement. Experience in similar roles or academic projects that involve data management, reporting, and administrative support will be advantageous.
