Job Overview: The Business Systems Manager at CIMMYT is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of the organization’s ERP initiatives. This role requires a deep hands-on understanding of Microsoft Dynamics 365, including Finance & Operations and Customer Engagement, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Power BI/Fabric for enterprise analytics. The manager will also need to be familiar with Microsoft Azure services, DevOps pipelines, and various database and integration technologies. The position emphasizes the importance of building a high-performing development team, creating an inclusive culture, and promoting a DevOps environment that encourages collaboration and continuous improvement. The manager will work closely with the Solution Architect and PMO to maintain transparent progress reporting and ensure that all deliverables meet quality, timeline, and budget expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Business Systems Manager will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing development team, setting clear goals, mentoring team members, and providing constructive performance feedback. The role includes creating an inclusive, learning-oriented culture that encourages peer reviews, coding standards, and knowledge sharing. The manager will balance workload and prioritization to ensure a sustainable delivery pace and staff wellbeing. Responsibilities also include defining and controlling the Scope of Work for outsourced partners, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards, and negotiating fair rates. The manager will enforce SLAs and acceptance criteria, drive issue resolution, and promote a DevOps culture that emphasizes collaboration and continuous feedback. Additionally, the manager will maintain a centralized Change Request and Problem resolution backlog, apply Agile practices, own risk/issue logs, and identify optimization opportunities in processes and architecture.
