Job Overview: The Individual Contractor will play a crucial role in supporting the Regional Youth Network for Central Asia (RYNCA) by assisting in outreach initiatives, maintaining administrative records, and providing logistical support for youth activities. The position requires a proactive approach to engage with young people and facilitate their involvement in drug prevention and health promotion activities. The contractor will be responsible for disseminating informational materials, maintaining communication with national institutions, and ensuring the smooth operation of local youth projects. This role is essential for fostering a supportive environment for youth engagement and promoting healthy lifestyles among marginalized groups.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Individual Contractor include:
Assisting in the distribution of promotional materials for RYNCA to enhance youth awareness.
Acting as an administrative focal point for the Friends in Focus Programme, ensuring effective communication and documentation with national institutions.
Providing clerical support for the expansion of the RYNCA branch, including processing membership applications and updating the database.
Organizing logistical arrangements for local round tables and consultations related to significant international days such as the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, International Youth Day, and World AIDS Day.
Tracking priority services and providing administrative support for youth-driven drug prevention activities.
Drafting narrative and statistical inputs for progress reports summarizing activities and results achieved.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with formal qualifications or certifications in Sociology, Social Science, International Relations, or a related field being advantageous. Candidates must have at least three years of experience in clerical, logistical, or administrative support, with a focus on local youth projects. Proficiency in managing social media platforms is essential, along with a basic understanding of drug abuse prevention programs aimed at young people. Knowledge of the local political, economic, and cultural environment is also desirable.
Educational Background: Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional formal qualifications or certifications from recognized educational institutions in relevant fields such as Sociology, Social Science, or International Relations are considered an advantage for this position.
Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in clerical, logistical, or administrative support is required. Experience in supporting local youth projects is essential, as is familiarity with social media management. Knowledge of drug abuse prevention programs targeting youth is desirable, along with an understanding of the local context in Uzbekistan.
Languages: Fluency in oral and written Russian and English is required for this position, as these are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is considered an advantage, enhancing communication capabilities within the organization.
