Job Overview: The Data Analytics and Front Office Support Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the operations of UNODET. This position involves a variety of tasks that are essential for the smooth functioning of the office. The intern will be responsible for stakeholder and contact management, office coordination, knowledge and information management, meeting and event preparation, reporting, and data organization. The intern will also provide administrative and communications support, ensuring that the office runs efficiently and effectively. The role requires a proactive approach to managing data quality, supporting data migration and integration workflows, producing reports and data visualizations, and contributing to knowledge management efforts. The intern will assist in preparing materials for meetings, maintaining web pages, and supporting day-to-day office operations, including taking meeting minutes and coordinating logistics for high-level meetings. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic international organization while contributing to important initiatives in digital cooperation.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be expected to perform a comprehensive set of duties, including but not limited to: maintaining stakeholder data quality across the CRM by managing record entry, verification, deduplication, and ongoing updates; supporting data migration and integration workflows by preparing structured spreadsheets and reconciling information across multiple sources; producing regular reports and data visualizations in Excel and other tools to support team monitoring, engagement tracking, and analysis; contributing to knowledge management by organizing shared repositories, maintaining folder architecture, and ensuring information is current, accurate, and easy to retrieve; supporting the development of meeting materials by formatting documents, compiling background data, and ensuring visual consistency; assisting with maintaining web pages and public-facing information materials; helping prepare the office for high-level meetings by assembling briefing packages, organizing supporting documents, and coordinating logistics; supporting day-to-day office operations and producing clear, concise meeting minutes; and contributing to other operational and administrative tasks as required.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet one of the following requirements: be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); be enrolled in the final academic year of a university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); or have graduated with a university degree as defined in the previous two points. Candidates are encouraged to pursue a broad range of studies, including Business Administration, Public Administration, International Relations, Communications, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Digital Transformation, Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, Management, Computer Science, or related fields. This diverse educational background will enable the intern to contribute effectively to the various tasks and responsibilities of the position.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this internship includes enrollment in a graduate school programme or being in the final year of a university degree programme. Candidates should ideally have completed at least four years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards a relevant degree. The preferred fields of study include Business Administration, Public Administration, International Relations, Communications, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Digital Transformation, Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, Management, Computer Science, or related disciplines. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of digital cooperation and the operational needs of the UNODET.
Experience: The level of experience required for this internship is relatively flexible, as it is designed for students or recent graduates. However, candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of data analytics, office coordination, and administrative support. Previous internships or academic projects related to data management, stakeholder engagement, or digital technologies will be advantageous. The intern should be able to work independently and collaboratively within a team, showcasing their ability to adapt to a fast-paced international environment.
Languages: Fluency in English is required for this position, as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Knowledge of another official United Nations language, such as French, is considered an advantage and may enhance the candidate's application.
