Job Overview: The Digital Web and Graphic Designer will be responsible for creating and designing a variety of digital and graphic materials that align with the brand guidelines of UNDRR. This includes the layout and design of print and digital assets such as one-pagers, brochures, report booklets, social media graphics, and materials for events. The designer will also be tasked with editing and adapting document layouts into Spanish or other languages relevant to the Americas and Caribbean region. Additionally, the role involves creating and editing animation products, postproduction of audiovisual materials, and supporting the visibility of ECHO project activities and thematic groups. The designer will contribute to UNDRR campaigns, including the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction and World Tsunami Awareness Day, and will develop graphic materials for various initiatives, including wildfire risk reduction and the Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (RP27). The position is home-based, allowing for flexibility while ensuring that the designer maintains existing brand guidelines across all creative outputs.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Digital Web and Graphic Designer include:
Layout and design of print and digital assets, ensuring adherence to UNDRR brand guidelines.
Editing and adapting document layouts into Spanish or other languages used in the Americas and Caribbean region.
Creation and editing of animation products for various campaigns and initiatives.
Postproduction of audiovisual materials to enhance communication efforts.
Supporting the visibility of ECHO project activities and thematic groups through effective design.
Assisting with the development of communication materials that raise awareness about wildfire risk reduction initiatives.
Creating graphic materials for the promotion of the Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (RP27) and the RAR2
Developing graphic materials for the promotion of EW4All Caribbean activities connected to the CREWS Project.
Maintaining existing brand guidelines across all creative and graphic materials produced by UNDRR. 1
Assisting with marketing materials and printing as necessary. 1
Supporting branding and communication materials for UNDRR convened events.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a first-level university degree in Graphic Design, Communication Science, or related fields. Additionally, candidates must possess at least 7 years of experience in digital and graphic design, demonstrating a strong background in layout design for both printed and digital assets. Experience in animation creation and audiovisual postproduction is considered desirable, enhancing the candidate's suitability for the role.
Educational Background: Candidates must hold a first-level university degree in Graphic Design, Communication Science, or a related field. This educational background is essential to ensure that the individual possesses the necessary skills and knowledge to perform effectively in the role of Digital Web and Graphic Designer.
Experience: A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in digital and graphic design is required for this position. Candidates should have a proven track record in layout design for both printed and digital assets, showcasing their ability to create visually appealing and effective materials.
