Job Overview: The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing infrastructure projects from inception to completion. This role involves planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. The Project Manager will coordinate with various stakeholders, including government entities, contractors, and community representatives, to ensure that project objectives are met. The position requires a strong understanding of project management principles and practices, as well as the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and challenges. The Project Manager will also be expected to report on project progress and outcomes, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop project plans, including defining project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
Coordinate and manage project resources, including personnel, budgets, and timelines.
Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and resolving issues as they arise.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulations and standards.
Facilitate communication and collaboration among project stakeholders, providing updates and reports as necessary.
Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimize project risks.
Evaluate project outcomes and prepare final reports, including lessons learned and recommendations for future projects.
Manage relationships with external partners, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project success.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in project management, particularly in infrastructure projects.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in project management, civil engineering, architecture, or a related field is required. A master's degree or professional certification in project management (such as PMP) is preferred and may enhance the candidate's qualifications.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with a focus on infrastructure projects. Experience working in international organizations or development agencies is an advantage. Demonstrated success in managing complex projects and leading cross-functional teams is essential.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication in Panama. Proficiency in English is highly desirable and will be considered an asset, especially for communication with international stakeholders.
Additional Notes: The position is classified as mid-level, with a contract type of ICA - LICA - Specialist - Regular. The contract duration is until December 31, with possibilities for renewal based on performance, financial availability, and organizational needs. This is a full-time position based in Panama City.
