Job Overview:
The Paramedic Emergency Nurse position is crucial for providing high-quality emergency and pre-hospital care within the MINURSO framework. This role involves trauma management and retrieval services, ensuring that critically ill or injured patients receive timely medical intervention, often without direct supervision from a medical doctor. The paramedic will be responsible for maintaining the health and well-being of MINURSO personnel, which includes conducting health assessments, participating in preventive health programs, and ensuring compliance with UN medical protocols. The position requires a proactive approach to emergency preparedness and response planning, making it essential for the paramedic to be adaptable and ready to handle various medical situations in austere environments.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Paramedic Emergency Nurse include participating in daily clinical operations of the mission's Medical Unit, performing clinical assessments of patients, delivering emergency pre-hospital care, providing advanced life support for critically ill patients, maintaining accurate electronic medical records, assisting in medical evacuations, conducting health assessments, and participating in training initiatives such as Basic Life Support (BLS). The paramedic must also ensure compliance with UN medical protocols, participate in emergency preparedness planning, and perform other duties as required by the Chief Medical Officer.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate expertise in emergency medical care, adherence to ethical standards, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks under pressure are essential. Effective oral and written communication skills are also required, along with a commitment to providing quality medical services to UN personnel. The role demands a high level of professionalism and client orientation, ensuring that all medical services meet the needs of the personnel.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background in emergency medical services, nursing, or a related field is required. Experience:
Candidates should have substantial experience in emergency medical care, particularly in pre-hospital settings. Languages:

Additional Notes:
This position is a volunteer role with a living allowance of USD 2622.62 per month. Volunteers are entitled to 2.5 days of annual leave per month and comprehensive health insurance. The role is based in the Medical Unit of MINURSO, which operates in a challenging environment with specific security considerations. Candidates must be prepared to live and work in potentially hazardous conditions, requiring flexibility and a mature level of cultural awareness.
