Job Overview:
As a Construction engineer" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Project Engineer within the Site and Civil Engineering Department at CERN, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of complex construction projects. Reporting directly to a CERN Project Manager, your primary responsibilities will include coordinating site activities, managing interfaces with both internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring that all project execution aligns with technical, scheduling, budgetary, and safety objectives. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety throughout the construction process. You will be involved in various phases of project management, from design and procurement to testing and commissioning, ensuring a seamless transition from construction to operational handover.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Your duties will include supervising the execution of construction works, ensuring compliance with contractual drawings and specifications in collaboration with external consultants such as architects and engineers. You will be responsible for implementing and adhering to safety measures on-site, identifying potential issues, and managing the remediation of defects. Additionally, you will participate in testing, commissioning, and taking-over activities to facilitate the smooth handover of completed works. You will also contribute to the design, coordination, and procurement phases of new projects, closely monitoring consultants' deliverables during the construction phase. Furthermore, you will coordinate on-site interfaces between contractors and CERN specialized services, organize the worksite according to the construction schedule, and monitor the progress, quality, and budget of the works in collaboration with the project manager.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, you must be a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State. A professional background in Civil Engineering or a related field is essential. Candidates should possess either a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience. It is also required that you have never held a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, or a PhD in the same area. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of construction project management and civil engineering design.

Experience:
Candidates should have experience in Civil Engineering design or construction works on-site, as well as experience in coordination. This experience is vital for effectively managing the various aspects of construction projects and ensuring successful collaboration among stakeholders.

Languages:
