Job Overview:
The Principal Reward Specialist position at ADB is a pivotal role within the Reward, HR, and Health Services Division of the Budget, People, and Management Systems Department. This position is crucial for leading the design and communication of effective reward policies and programs that cater to both international and local staff at ADB's headquarters in Manila and its field offices. The role involves overseeing junior team members and requires a strong understanding of compensation management, benefits and allowances management, job evaluation, and people management. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Principal Reward Specialist will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities that include:
  • **Compensation Management**: Leading the design and implementation of compensation policies for both international and local staff, ensuring alignment with ADB's strategic HR framework. This includes overseeing salary benchmarking, managing the annual salary review process, and ensuring effective communication of compensation policies to staff.
  • **Benefits and Allowances Management**: Designing and implementing benefits and allowances policies for staff, ensuring they are competitive and aligned with market practices. This involves conducting periodic benchmarking reviews and preparing budget reviews for benefits and allowances.
  • **Job Evaluation**: Participating in job evaluation processes to ensure consistent measurement of job sizes, which informs job grading decisions.
  • **People Management**: Managing the Reward Policy team, providing direction and feedback on performance, and handling complex reward-related inquiries from clients and colleagues. The Principal Reward Specialist will also be responsible for the ongoing development of team members and ensuring high performance within the team.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Principal Reward Specialist position must possess a Master's degree in Business or Public Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Economics, Social Sciences, or related fields. Alternatively, a university degree in these areas combined with at least 5 years of specialized experience in similar organizations may be considered. Additionally, candidates should have at least 12 years of relevant experience in various facets of human resource management, with international experience in multiple countries, preferably within international development finance institutions or multinational organizations. Affiliation with recognized professional HR associations such as CIPD, IPMA, or ASTD is preferred. Candidates should also demonstrate experience in designing reward policies across multiple countries, market benchmarking, and possess strong budgeting and financial modeling skills related to compensation and benefits.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the Principal Reward Specialist position includes a Master's degree in relevant fields such as Business, Public Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Economics, or Social Sciences.
