Job Overview: The coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">MEAL Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination and high-quality implementation of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Learning, and Information Management (MEAL & IM) activities across the mission. This role supports program quality, accountability, data-driven decision-making, and donor compliance. The MEAL Coordinator provides technical support and guidance to the MEL Managers and their teams in Aleppo and Raqqa, ensuring effective coordination and harmonization of MEAL and Information Management practices, tools, outputs, and reporting across the mission. The position is crucial for maintaining high standards in monitoring and evaluation processes, ensuring that the organization meets its humanitarian objectives effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities: The MEAL Coordinator has several key responsibilities, including leading the development and implementation of the consortium-wide MEAL & IM strategy, ensuring alignment with donor requirements and consortium objectives. They are tasked with harmonizing MEAL and IM tools, indicators, reporting templates, and accountability mechanisms across partners. The role involves overseeing data consolidation, analysis, and visualization for reporting and decision-making, as well as ensuring compliance with data protection and ethical standards. The MEAL Coordinator will also coordinate evaluations, lessons learned exercises, and after-action reviews, promoting evidence-based decision-making and program adaptation. Additionally, they will provide technical guidance and capacity building to partner MEAL and IM teams and facilitate regular coordination meetings with consortium partners.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Information Management, Statistics, or Social Sciences. They should have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with a similar duration of experience in a comparable position. Technical skills required include proficiency in Excel, KoboToolbox, and strong expertise in MEAL and Information Management systems. Candidates should also have experience in data collection, analysis, interpretation, and donor-compliant reporting within humanitarian and development programming.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field is required for this position. Relevant fields may include Information Management, Statistics, or Social Sciences, which provide the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge for effective performance in the role.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with a similar duration of experience in a comparable position. This experience should include a strong background in monitoring and evaluation, data management, and accountability mechanisms within humanitarian contexts.
