Job Overview:
The ET Consultant (Logistics and Asset Management Analyst) position is integral to the World Bank Group's mission of addressing development challenges through effective logistics and asset management. This role is situated within the Infrastructure Engineering team, which is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the core IT infrastructure of the organization. The Logistics and Asset Management Analyst will play a crucial role in managing the lifecycle of assets, coordinating logistics for network and infrastructure equipment, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to operational excellence, as the analyst will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of logistics processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary duties and responsibilities of the Logistics and Asset Management Analyst include:
  • Managing the asset lifecycle, including the shipment and logistics of network and infrastructure equipment.
  • Coordinating logistics activities, tracking shipments, and ensuring accuracy, accountability, and compliance with internal policies.
  • Strengthening operational controls and ensuring audit readiness for logistics processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements related to asset management.
  • Coordinating shipments of kits and network equipment from headquarters to country offices via diplomatic pouch.
  • Collaborating effectively with vendors, freight agents, finance teams, and internal stakeholders across multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Managing asset disposal and storage processes to ensure efficient use of resources and compliance with regulations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Specifically, candidates should have experience in the IT field, with a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1 year of related work experience. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate knowledge of World Bank Group logistics processes, including shipping documentation, goods receipt verification, SAP goods inventory, procurement, and asset management functions. Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reconciliation is essential, along with an understanding of asset lifecycle management and compliance requirements. Candidates should also have the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies efficiently and possess knowledge of handling World Bank Group diplomatic pouch shipments and regulations.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as logistics, supply chain management, information technology, or a related discipline. The educational qualifications should be complemented by practical experience in logistics and asset management, particularly within an international or development context.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in logistics and asset management, preferably within an international organization or a similar environment. Candidates with experience in the IT sector, particularly in roles related to asset management, procurement, or logistics coordination, will be highly regarded. Experience with the World Bank Group's logistics processes and systems, such as SAP, is also advantageous.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is English. Proficiency in additional languages is considered a plus, particularly languages relevant to the regions in which the World Bank operates, as this may enhance communication with diverse stakeholders.
