Job Overview: As a National Graduate Trainee within the Strategic Initiatives Team at ESA, you will play a vital role in supporting the implementation of ESA Strategy 204
This position involves conducting strategic research and gap analyses to identify priority areas relevant to ESA's strategic goals. You will be responsible for defining high-potential strategic initiatives, evaluating their feasibility and expected impact, and engaging with various stakeholders, including ESA directorates, Member States, and industry partners. The role also includes planning and organizing events such as strategy conferences and innovation sprints, as well as developing new concepts and methodologies to enhance strategic innovation at ESA. Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct strategy research and gap analyses to identify priority areas relevant to ESA Strategy 204
Define high-potential strategic initiatives and evaluate their value, feasibility, and expected impact.
Engage with ESA directorates and key stakeholders, including Member States, European Commission, strategic partners, user communities, industry, and academia, through collaborative frameworks and processes.
Support the development and early implementation of selected strategic initiatives.
Plan and organize events, including strategy conferences, targeted workshops, and innovation sprints.
Develop new concepts, methodologies, and tools to support strategic innovation at ESA.
Monitor progress and prepare reports for ESA management and governing bodies.
Contribute to the broader work of the Strategy Department as required.
Participate in training, development, and leadership opportunities as part of the National Graduate Trainee program.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment, both independently and as part of a team. Previous experience working in international teams is considered an asset. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate motivation and a clear understanding of their professional prospects and career goals, which will be explored during the selection process.
Educational Background: Applicants should have recently completed or be in the final year of a master's degree in a relevant technical or functional area, with a focus on strategy or innovation.
