Job Overview:
The Project Analyst position is situated within the Agribusiness Investment Team (AIT) in the Office of the Director General (OPSD) of the Private Sector Operations Department (PSOD) at ADB. The role is crucial in supporting operational and administrative functions related to the division's technical assistance (TA) portfolio and operational project support. The Project Analyst will be responsible for assisting in project processing, managing TA documentation, and ensuring compliance with ADB's Public Communication Policy. This position requires a proactive approach to project support, technical assistance management, and the preparation of statistical and monitoring reports. The Project Analyst will also play a key role in budget preparation and will be expected to conduct research and gather relevant data for reports and presentations, thereby contributing to the overall mission of ADB to foster prosperity in Asia.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Project Analyst include:
  • Project Support: Assisting in project processing, conducting initial due diligence on active projects, preparing documentation for project handover, and supporting the planning of initiatives for IT systems and business procedures.
  • Technical Assistance: Managing TA processing and administration, overseeing consultant recruitment and procurement, monitoring TA implementation, and ensuring compliance with disclosure requirements.
  • Statistical and Monitoring Reports: Monitoring and preparing updates on division projects and TA pipeline, coordinating with other departments for report preparation, and creating presentations.
  • Budget Preparation: Assisting in the administration of annual budget allocations, preparing budget requests, and monitoring budget reporting.
  • Others: Conducting research, gathering data for reports, and providing support to other divisions within PSOD as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Project Analyst position must possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience. They should demonstrate excellent organizational and time management skills, adaptability, and the ability to synthesize information from various teams and stakeholders. Strong analytical thinking skills are essential, along with proficiency in standard software programs and information technologies. The candidate must be able to work collaboratively as part of a team and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. This foundational education is essential for understanding the complexities of project analysis and management within the context of ADB's operations.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience. This experience should ideally encompass project management, technical assistance administration, and familiarity with compliance and reporting requirements in a development context. Candidates should have a proven track record of successfully managing projects and working collaboratively in a team environment.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position, as excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. While not mandatory, knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly if it enhances communication with stakeholders in the Asia-Pacific region.

Additional Notes:
This is a fixed-term appointment for an initial period of 3 years, with the possibility of extension for up to 2 additional years, conversion to a regular appointment, or termination at the end of the initial period based on ADB's needs and the employee's performance.
