Job Overview: The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is situated within the headquarters of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL, where the intern will support the Data Protection Officer (DPO) in implementing and monitoring actions defined in the GDPR compliance plan. The internship offers a concrete discovery of GDPR compliance within an international NGO, providing insights into the legal, organizational, and operational challenges related to personal data protection in a humanitarian context. Interns will develop transversal skills such as analysis, organization, coordination, writing, and awareness-raising. This role also provides a significant first experience in compliance, data protection, and information governance, with opportunities to work in interaction with various departments including HR, IT, communication, operations, and partnerships.
Duties and Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the DPO, the intern will be responsible for the following tasks:
Implementation of the GDPR compliance plan - Contribute to the monitoring and updating of the GDPR action plan (dashboards, prioritization, deadlines). - Participate in the implementation of accountability actions (documentation, internal procedures, internal controls). - Assist in updating and structuring the register of processing activities and its update procedure.
Documentation and compliance of processing - Contribute to documenting the legal bases for processing (consent, legal obligations, legitimate interest, etc.). - Assist in ensuring compliance for certain identified sensitive processing activities (recruitment, reference checks, donors, HR, etc.). - Participate in the development of practical guides (authorized third parties, data retention, etc.).
Transparency and rights of individuals - Participate in updating information notices and privacy policies (HR materials, forms, website, campaigns, etc.). - Assist in establishing and monitoring the procedure for managing rights requests (access, rectification, opposition, etc.). - Contribute to maintaining the register of requests from concerned individuals.
Awareness, security, and subcontractors - Contribute to preparing and deploying internal GDPR awareness and training actions. - Assist in documenting measures for the security of personal data and associated procedures. - Participate in evaluating the compliance of subcontractors and partners (contractual clauses, transfers outside the EU, monitoring).
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate should be pursuing higher education in fields such as digital law, data protection, compliance, business law, political science, risk management, or equivalent. A strong interest in GDPR, personal data protection, and compliance is essential, along with a marked interest in the associative and humanitarian sector. Candidates should demonstrate rigor, organizational skills, analytical and synthesis abilities, and good writing skills. Comfort with structured documents and the ability to work transversally and interact with various stakeholders are also important. Proficiency in office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required. Knowledge of GDPR or prior experience in this area is a plus. Fluency in French is mandatory, while professional proficiency in English is appreciated.
Educational Background: Candidates should be currently enrolled in a higher education program related to digital law, data protection, compliance, business law, political science, risk management, or a similar field. This educational background is crucial for understanding the legal frameworks and operational challenges associated with GDPR compliance in a humanitarian context.
Experience: While prior experience in GDPR compliance or data protection is advantageous, it is not strictly required. The internship is designed to provide a significant first experience in compliance and data protection, making it suitable for candidates who are eager to learn and develop their skills in this area.
Languages: Fluency in French is mandatory for this position, as the primary working language will be French. Professional proficiency in English is considered a valuable asset, as it may facilitate communication with international partners and stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This internship position requires a mandatory internship agreement. The legal compensation is set at 15% of the current hourly social security ceiling, calculated pro-rata based on actual hours worked in a month (approximately 154 hours for an average month, equating to 22 days of 7 hours each).
