Job Overview:
The Asistente de Comunicación Digital will support the update, implementation, and monitoring of UNICEF Cuba's Digital Communication Strategy. This role is crucial for consolidating UNICEF Cuba's digital presence in alignment with the new Country Programme Document (CPD) for 2026-203
  • The assistant will contribute to the production and dissemination of multimedia content across digital channels, ensuring compliance with UNICEF's visibility and branding requirements. The position involves engaging with various stakeholders, including beneficiaries and partners, to create compelling human interest stories and reports that highlight UNICEF's impact. The assistant will also monitor social media interactions, manage digital content, and provide insights to enhance communication strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing and implementing a Digital Communication Strategy (2026-2027) and monthly communication plans focusing on strategic topics and key audiences.
  • Support the production, review, editing, and dissemination of multimedia content across digital channels.
  • Provide editorial support for technical and promotional materials produced by the Country Office.
  • Collect information and conduct interviews to create human interest stories, photo reports, videos, and social media posts.
  • Moderate interactions on UNICEF's digital platforms, ensuring alignment with UNICEF's tone and values.
  • Identify information gaps for key audiences and generate relevant content.
  • Monitor UNICEF's content and mentions in media and social networks.
  • Prepare monthly social listening reports with findings and recommendations.
  • Track social media accounts of UN agencies, donors, and partners for potential synergies. 1
  • Assist in preparing communication materials for various sessions and events. 1
  • Support digital campaigns with creative ideas to achieve defined objectives. 1
  • Help identify and evaluate audiovisual and editorial service providers. 1
  • Maintain a multimedia resource bank and contribute to the global repository. 1
  • Stay updated on digital communication trends and audience behavior. 1
  • Assist in data collection and analysis according to the Digital Communication Strategy indicators. 1
  • Collaborate with media and partners to highlight UNICEF's work and results. 1
  • Manage press coverage and maintain a media impact archive. 1
  • Support information management regarding children in emergencies. 1
  • Review lessons learned from digital communication experiences and recommend innovative practices.

Required Qualifications:
  • University degree in Social Communication, Journalism, Digital Communication, or a relevant field.
  • Specialized training in Social Communication, Journalism, Digital Communication, or Social Media Management is desirable.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in digital communication and management across various platforms.
  • Experience in monitoring social media and content with a focus on human rights and communication with children is an added advantage.

Educational Background:
A higher education degree is required, specifically in fields such as Social Communication, Journalism, or Digital Communication. Specialized training in relevant areas such as social media management is preferred.

Experience:
Candidates should possess a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in digital communication, demonstrating a strong understanding of various digital platforms and their management. Experience in monitoring social media and engaging with children in communication efforts will be considered a valuable asset.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, with a high level of proficiency in English being highly desirable. Candidates should be able to communicate effectively in both languages, as this will be essential for engaging with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
