Job Overview: The Driver position is a crucial role within the Resident Office (RO) team, primarily responsible for the safe and efficient transport of authorized personnel for official purposes. The role typically involves driving within Bucharest and occasionally to other locations within Romania and neighboring countries. In addition to driving duties, the Driver will also provide clerical support as needed, which may include tasks such as delivering and collecting mail, answering phones, and recording business transactions. The position requires a commitment to safety and adherence to various codes of conduct and regulations, ensuring that all transport activities are conducted in a professional and responsible manner.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Driver will be accountable for the safe, punctual, and efficient transport of authorized personnel to and from airports, transport hubs, meetings, and appointments. Key responsibilities include operating the official vehicle safely under all local conditions, adhering to the EBRD's Driver Rules of Conduct, and complying with local laws and speed limits. The Driver must ensure that all passengers wear seat belts and must never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Additionally, the Driver will be responsible for maintaining the vehicle in a roadworthy condition, ensuring it is clean and equipped with necessary items such as a first aid kit and spare tire. The Driver will also keep accurate records of transport logs, fuel usage, and maintenance, and will undertake regular vehicle checks as directed. Clerical support duties may include delivering documents and answering phones, contributing to the overall efficiency of the office operations.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a valid driving license and demonstrate capability in defensive driving techniques. Professional driving experience with a safe driving record is essential, along with a thorough knowledge of local driving rules and regulations. Familiarity with the city’s roads and the willingness to drive throughout Romania and occasionally to neighboring countries is required. An Advanced Driving Training Certificate is preferable.
