Job Overview:
The consultant will play a crucial role in supporting OzonAction's communications activities and outreach materials related to various campaigns and events, including World Refrigeration Day (WRD), World Ozone Day (WOD), and the 10th Anniversary of the Kigali Amendment. The consultant will be responsible for developing communication strategies, creating campaign materials, and implementing outreach plans to ensure the successful delivery of these initiatives. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including National Ozone Units (NOUs) and other partners, to enhance awareness and engagement in environmental issues related to ozone layer protection and sustainable cooling practices. The consultant will also be involved in media outreach and strategic pitching to secure high-impact coverage for these campaigns, as well as producing a video series that showcases success stories from funded projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant's duties include developing communication campaigns for World Refrigeration Day and World Ozone Day, creating a National INWIC Communications Package, providing communications support for awareness-raising activities, enhancing the visual design and user experience of the OzonAction Documents Portal, and coordinating outreach activities for the MOP-38 and Kigali 10th anniversary. Specific tasks involve developing campaign concepts, producing campaign materials, creating outreach tools for National Ozone Units, conducting media outreach, and leading the production of a video series. The consultant will also be responsible for ensuring that all outputs are delivered on time and meet the required standards, providing post-campaign reports, and maintaining a media list and pitching tracker.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in public relations, outreach, communications, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted. A minimum of five years of professional experience in public relations, outreach, and communications is required, along with experience at national, regional, and international levels. Familiarity with social media and digital campaigns, as well as experience with Multilateral Environmental Agreements and international organizations, is desirable. Candidates should also have skills in analytics, report writing, and meeting organization.

Educational Background:
The position requires an advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in public relations, outreach, communications, or a related field. A first-level university degree may be accepted if accompanied by two additional years of relevant work experience. This educational background ensures that candidates have the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to effectively manage communications and outreach activities.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least five years of professional experience in public relations, outreach, and communications. This experience should include work at national, regional, and international levels, demonstrating the ability to navigate complex organizational structures and engage with diverse stakeholders. Experience in social media and digital campaigns is desirable, as is familiarity with Multilateral Environmental Agreements and international organizations. The consultant should also have experience in analytics, report writing, and organizing meetings, which are essential for evaluating the effectiveness of communication strategies and ensuring successful project implementation.

Languages:
Fluency in oral and written English is required for this position. Additionally, working knowledge of another UN language is considered an advantage, as it may facilitate communication with a broader range of stakeholders and enhance the consultant's ability to engage in international contexts.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy is expected to last for nine months, with the first contract covering outputs related to the 2025 CAP Budget and the second contract covering outputs related to the 2026 CAP Budget. The position is home-based, allowing for flexibility in work arrangements.
