Job Overview:
The Senior IT Operations Associate position at WFP is crucial for ensuring the effective delivery of IT services and support within the organization. This role involves leading IT maintenance, digitization, and user support activities while coordinating a team of IT support staff. The Senior IT Operations Associate will be responsible for achieving individual and team objectives in compliance with relevant regulations and policies. This position requires close collaboration with various units within the Country Office (CO), Regional Office (RO), and Headquarters (HQ) on IT matters. The role is essential for maintaining the operational efficiency of IT services, supporting the organization's mission to provide food assistance to vulnerable populations, and ensuring that WFP staff have the necessary tools and resources to perform their duties effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior IT Operations Associate will manage and coordinate a team of IT support staff, ensuring that individual and team objectives are met in compliance with all relevant regulations and policies. Key responsibilities include providing training and advice to clients and end users of IT services, resolving issues, and ensuring that IT policies and procedures are correctly applied. The role involves collating complex data, conducting data analysis, and supporting the development of accurate reports to identify and recommend solutions. The Senior IT Operations Associate will oversee the maintenance of systems and hardware, develop documentation for WFP staff, manage the implementation of new standard applications, and support the development and implementation of plans for IT service delivery. Additionally, the role includes facilitating user adoption of digital tools, ensuring cybersecurity compliance, and aligning IT solutions with WFP HQ policies and standards.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a completed first-level university degree (Bachelor’s) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant professional certifications, such as ITIL Foundation certification or vendor certifications like Microsoft (MCSA/MCSE) or Cisco CCNA, are highly desirable. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of IT governance processes and system architecture, as well as experience in project management and change implementation. Technical expertise in IT operations and service management is essential, along with the ability to effectively manage client relationships and address internal customer needs.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required for this position. Additional certifications in IT service management or vendor-specific technologies are considered advantageous and can strengthen the candidate's profile.

Experience:
The position requires at least seven years of experience in IT Operations, with a focus on governance processes and building relationships with business counterparts on key IT initiatives. Familiarity with enterprise digital tools, such as the Microsoft 365 suite and data collection/analysis platforms, is essential, along with experience in supporting digitization initiatives and electronic workflow improvements.

Languages:
Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

Additional Notes:
This position is a fixed-term contract at the G7 level, with a duration of 12 months, which is renewable based on performance and organizational needs.
