Job Overview:
The Technical Administration & Liaison Officer is a pivotal position within the Nigeria INGO Forum, primarily supporting the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Deputy Director in ensuring that administrative and logistical operations run smoothly. This role is essential for maintaining compliance with both internal and external regulations while also strengthening engagement with government stakeholders in Northwest Nigeria. The officer will be responsible for overseeing office operations in Zamfara (Gusau), coordinating logistics for staff and visitors, managing procurement and administrative documentation, and supervising drivers or car hire arrangements. Additionally, the officer will contribute to policy tracking, strategic engagement, and advocacy efforts, ensuring that NIF’s operational presence in the Northwest is safeguarded and that service delivery to members is enhanced.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Technical Administration & Liaison Officer include:
  • Ensuring compliance with NRC/NIF policies, procedures, and legal frameworks.
  • Providing administrative, logistical, and liaison support to the Zamfara (Northwest) operations.
  • Maintaining effective filing and documentation systems.
  • Supporting process improvement initiatives to strengthen systems.
  • Ensuring smooth day-to-day office operations.
  • Monitoring administrative and logistics-related procurements and budgets.
  • Coordinating travel, accommodation, and transport logistics.
  • Upholding ethical standards and confidentiality.
  • Representing NIF positively in interactions with stakeholders. 1
  • Supporting coordination activities and reporting. Specific responsibilities include managing procurement processes, supporting budget preparation, supervising administrative staff, organizing logistics for meetings and trainings, processing payments and invoices, maintaining office inventory, drafting correspondence to government agencies, ensuring compliance with NRC policies in logistics activities, overseeing vehicle management, and building relationships with government authorities.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Technical Administration & Liaison Officer position include:
  • A degree or diploma in Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Logistics, Admin, or Liaison Officer in a humanitarian or recovery context.
  • Experience working in complex and volatile environments.
  • A proven track record of delivering results in similar roles.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, with proficiency in Hausa being an added advantage.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a degree or diploma in Administration, Management, or a related field. This educational background is essential to ensure that the officer has the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to effectively manage administrative and logistical operations within the organization.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3 years’ experience in roles related to logistics, administration, or liaison within a humanitarian or recovery context. Candidates should have experience working in complex and volatile environments, demonstrating their ability to navigate challenges and deliver results effectively. A proven track record in similar roles is essential to ensure that the candidate can meet the demands of the position.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization and with stakeholders. Knowledge of the Hausa language is considered an added advantage, as it may facilitate better engagement with local government authorities and communities in Northwest Nigeria.

This position is based in Gusau, Zamfara, Nigeria. The role is full-time and involves working in a challenging environment that may require the officer to handle insecure situations.
