Job Overview: The Volunteer Program Developer will play a crucial role in addressing the socio-economic challenges faced by young single mothers in the Boyo Division of Cameroon. The position involves collaborating with Goodness and Mercy Missions and community stakeholders to design a comprehensive empowerment program aimed at fostering financial independence, personal agency, and resilience among these women. The volunteer will be responsible for conducting needs assessments, analyzing the context, and proposing evidence-based strategies to tackle the identified challenges. The role also includes designing program modules, defining delivery methodologies, and establishing success metrics to measure the program's impact. Additionally, the volunteer will engage in proposal and grant writing to secure funding for the program, ensuring that the vision and methodology are clearly articulated to potential funders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct a systematic needs assessment to identify the primary challenges faced by young single mothers in the Boyo Division, including access to education, vocational skills, childcare, healthcare, micro-finance, and social stigma.
Propose evidence-based strategies and initial recommendations to address these challenges.
Collaborate with stakeholders to design the core architecture of the empowerment program, including defining program modules such as financial literacy, vocational training, entrepreneurship, psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">psychosocial support, and parenting skills.
Develop a delivery methodology that may include workshops, mentorship pairings, and peer support groups.
Establish clear success metrics to measure self-reliance, financial independence, and personal leadership among participants.
Write compelling project proposals that articulate the program's vision, methodology, budget, and expected impact to secure funding.
Research and identify potential funding sources aligned with the program's goals, including international aid agencies, NGOs, foundations, and corporate social responsibility partners.
Create and maintain a database of funding opportunities with relevant contact and application information.
Required Qualifications:
Strong analytical skills to conduct needs assessments and context analyses.
Excellent communication skills for proposal writing and stakeholder engagement.
Experience: Previous experience in community development, program design, or working with marginalized populations is highly desirable. Experience in conducting needs assessments and developing empowerment programs will be particularly beneficial.
