Job Overview: The Associate Project Officer position is integral to the OSCE's extra-budgetary project 'Pathways to Resilience and Inclusion,' which aims to foster dialogue and understanding among youth from diverse backgrounds, particularly focusing on Jewish and Muslim communities. The role involves coordinating youth capacity-building activities and community dialogue events, ensuring that project activities are planned and implemented effectively. The selected candidate will work under the supervision of the Project Officer and will be responsible for organizing training activities, developing learning modules, and maintaining project documentation. This position requires a commitment to the project's goals and the ability to adapt to challenges that may arise during implementation. The Associate Project Officer will play a crucial role in enhancing stakeholder coordination and contributing to the visibility of the project in line with OSCE and donor requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Associate Project Officer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
Planning and implementing project activities to ensure timely delivery of outputs and achievement of expected results.
Identifying implementation challenges and proposing practical adjustments to work plans.
Organizing training activities and coordinating a coaching program for youth dialogue.
Supporting the development of learning modules on youth dialogue and coordinating expert contributions.
Organizing meetings, workshops, and consultations with relevant partners to enhance stakeholder coordination.
Preparing and maintaining substantive project documentation, including drafting concept notes, background papers, agendas, and terms of reference for experts.
Contributing to project visibility and ensuring compliance with OSCE and donor requirements.
Engaging with young people from diverse communities and representatives of state authorities to foster mutual respect and understanding.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a first-level university degree in human rights, international relations, development studies, or education. Additionally, they should have at least four years of relevant professional experience in the fields of human rights, anti-discrimination, and/or hate crime/security. Demonstrated experience in implementing and developing projects, particularly donor-funded projects, is essential. Proven experience in coordinating dialogue initiatives and educational projects, as well as working with young people from diverse communities, is required. Candidates should also exhibit excellent analytical, drafting, and research skills, along with the ability to work independently under time pressure and tight deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with individuals from various national and cultural backgrounds are crucial. Gender awareness and sensitivity, as well as the ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities, are also important qualifications.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a first-level university degree, which can be in fields such as human rights, international relations, development studies, or education. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of the issues addressed by the OSCE and for effectively contributing to the project's objectives.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of four years of relevant professional experience. This experience should be in the fields of human rights, anti-discrimination, and/or hate crime/security. The monthly remuneration is approximately EUR 5,600, depending on post adjustment and family status, and OSCE salaries are exempt from taxation in Poland. Social benefits include participation in the Cigna medical insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund, with the organization contributing an amount equivalent to 15% of the employee's salary.
