Duties and Responsibilities: The Senior Investment Officer will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including: serving as IFC’s Hub Lead for Poland, setting strategic priorities for the MAS sectors, shaping the WBG country strategy, and representing MAS in the local market. The SIO is expected to deliver at least five bankable mandates annually, build and manage senior-level relationships with clients and partners, lead MAS business development efforts, and support IFC’s engagement across Central and Eastern Europe. Additionally, the SIO will identify opportunities for Poland to contribute to Ukraine’s reconstruction, design and deliver Upstream engagements, and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent professional qualification in business, finance, economics, engineering, or a relevant field. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, or project finance in emerging markets is required. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of originating, structuring, negotiating, and closing transactions, along with strong financial and commercial judgment. Familiarity with the MAS sectors and the ability to link policy reforms with investment opportunities is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate strong negotiation skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree or equivalent professional qualification in relevant fields such as business, finance, economics, or engineering.
