Job Overview:
The Associate position within the Assurance & Enterprise Risk Management (ARM) team is a full-time role focused on supporting the implementation of technology solutions, particularly AuditBoard (now known as Optro), with a strong emphasis on AI tools. This role does not necessitate prior audit experience but requires a solid background in systems design, configuration, and implementation. The Associate will be instrumental in translating audit and risk management needs into effective technology solutions. The position involves leading and contributing to the configuration, rollout, and continuous improvement of audit tools and workflows while also supporting ongoing audits. Ideal candidates will have a strong foundation in systems implementation, business analysis, or technology enablement, along with a demonstrated understanding of AI tools and audit processes. This is a limited-term position lasting 8 months, based in Seattle, and does not offer relocation assistance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the Associate include:
  • Audit Technology Implementation & Optimization (75%): - Lead and support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of audit management tools, primarily AuditBoard. - Assess current audit processes and conduct stakeholder interviews to identify needs, pain points, and workflow requirements. - Develop and maintain implementation roadmaps and project timelines. - Configure AuditBoard to align with established audit methodologies and workflows. - Define user roles, access controls, and governance structures. - Design and customize audit templates, workflows, and reporting outputs. - Oversee the data migration of historical audit records into AuditBoard. - Partner with stakeholders to conduct user acceptance testing (UAT). - Provide hands-on support during the implementation phase. - Develop training materials, including user guides and quick reference videos, and deliver training sessions for team onboarding. - Establish feedback loops and mechanisms for continuous improvement.
  • Grantee Audit and Assurance (15%): - Collaborate with the Assurance team to ensure audits are conducted with high quality and in accordance with expectations. - Supervise daily workflow and project activities, ensuring clarity in job responsibilities and completion of tasks. - Track results and supervise status, including document creation, presentation preparation, logistical support, and systems management.
  • Other Work (10%): - Participate in special team projects as needed, providing ad hoc support for Grantee and Internal Audit activities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Accounting, Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additionally, experience with database design and tailoring, particularly with AuditBoard/Optro or similar audit platforms, is preferred. Candidates should have a background in systems implementation, configuration, or business process design, as well as familiarity with internal controls, risk assessment practices, and audit methodologies. Strong comfort with technology and AI is essential, along with the ability to learn and adopt new systems and tools to enhance audit processes and team efficiency.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Accounting, Management, or a related field. Candidates with an equivalent blend of education and experience will also be considered. This educational foundation is critical for understanding the complexities of audit processes and risk management.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have relevant experience in systems implementation, configuration, or business process design. While prior audit experience is not necessary, familiarity with internal controls, risk assessment practices, and audit methodologies is advantageous. The salary range for this role is between $97,600 to $146,400 USD, with adjustments for high-wage market differences in Seattle and Washington D.C., where the Foundation has offices. The salary range in these locations is $107,400 to $161,000 USD. New hire salaries typically fall between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range, depending on the candidate’s skills, experience, and expertise as evaluated during the interview process. Candidates must have unrestricted work authorization in the United States, as the Foundation does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role. Additionally, employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
