Job Overview: The Graphic Designer position is a fully remote role that involves creating and designing communication materials tailored to the needs of Country Programs within the CRS Central and West Africa Regional Office (CWARO). The successful candidate will manage the design and production of all communications and marketing materials under the guidance of the Deputy Regional Director and Regional Communications Officer. This role requires collaboration with program teams to adhere to planned production schedules and approved estimated costs. Responsibilities include creating various marketing materials such as factsheets, booklets, annual reports, flyers, event materials, posters, and banners, as well as visual content for social media platforms and the CRS website. The designer will also work with datasets to produce visually appealing infographics and other data visualization products, ensuring that all materials align with CRS branding guidelines. The position demands a commitment to upholding design quality standards and maintaining consistent branding across all outputs.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Graphic Designer include:
Creating and designing communication materials in consultation with Country Program needs.
Managing the design and production of all communications and marketing materials, ensuring adherence to production schedules and budget constraints.
Developing various marketing materials such as factsheets, booklets, annual reports, flyers, event materials, posters, and banners.
Creating visual content for social media platforms including Facebook and X, as well as the CRS website.
Utilizing datasets to create infographics and other data visualization products.
Customizing the format and design of documents such as presentations, strategies, and technical reports to align with CRS branding.
Developing multimedia products from archived photos and reviewing existing documents for design consistency.
Upholding design quality standards and ensuring consistent branding across all materials produced.
Collaborating with program teams to ensure that communication materials meet their needs and expectations.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the Graphic Designer position include:
A Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in design, layout, and data visualization production.
Mastery of Adobe Creative Cloud software, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator, as well as proficiency in Canva.
Comprehensive technical knowledge of design principles and practices.
Working knowledge of print, web, and social media design.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills within a team environment.
Ability to accept and incorporate constructive criticism.
Strong listening skills and logical thinking abilities. 1

Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design or a related field. A Master’s degree in journalism or communications is preferred, as it may provide additional skills and knowledge beneficial for the role. Candidates with advanced document design experience or knowledge of basic video editing will have a competitive advantage.
Experience: Candidates for the Graphic Designer position should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in design, layout, and data visualization production. This experience should demonstrate a mastery of design software and an ability to produce high-quality communication materials that align with organizational branding and messaging.
Languages: Proficiency in communication and writing in English is mandatory, while proficiency in French is also required. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered a plus, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in diverse environments.
Additional Notes: This position is fully remote, allowing the successful candidate to work from any location within the CRS Central and West Africa Regional Office (CWARO) countries. The role may require travel up to 10% of the time.
