Job Overview: The Graphics Designer will play a crucial role in enhancing communication and visibility for the EbAM project, which aims to improve climate resilience in Malawi through integrated watershed management and agricultural practices. The designer will be responsible for creating various communication products, including banners, apparel mock-ups, and presentation templates, ensuring that all materials align with the project's visual identity. The role involves working closely with the Office of Communications (OCC) and other stakeholders to produce thematic videos and photographs that document best practices and project events. The incumbent will be expected to follow FAO's branding guidelines and standards in all produced materials, contributing to the overall success of the project's communication strategy.
Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent will be responsible for the following tasks:
Collaborate with the Office of Communications (OCC) and relevant communication focal points to produce at least two-minute-long thematic videos that align with FAO briefs.
Ensure that all videos are branded according to FAO and donor branding guidelines.
Liaise with OCC at various stages of video production for distribution and publication of video products.
Follow FAO Video production guidelines to ensure quality and compliance.
Maintain communication with OCC to ensure adherence to standards, aligned messaging, and appropriate review and clearance processes for all communication materials.
Perform other related duties as required to support the project's communication efforts.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
A University Diploma from an institution recognized by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/UNESCO in videography and graphic design.
A minimum of 5 years of experience working in videography, preferably with the United Nations or international organizations.
A working knowledge (level C) of English is essential.
Candidates must be nationals of Malawi or residents of the country with a valid work permit. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate core competencies such as results focus, teamwork, communication, building effective relationships, and knowledge sharing.
Educational Background: The position requires a University Diploma in videography and graphic design from an institution recognized by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/UNESCO.
