Job Overview: The Programme Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation of UNFPA's country programme by providing operational, coordination, and administrative support. This includes assisting in programme planning, monitoring, and reporting processes. The Programme Associate will contribute to data management, track programme implementation, and coordinate activities to ensure compliance with UNFPA procedures. Reporting to the Programme Specialist or Programme Analyst, the Programme Associate will help in data collection, compilation, and verification, as well as support the tracking of programme activities and results. The role also involves contributing to knowledge management through documentation and organization of relevant information, ensuring that the programme is delivered effectively and efficiently.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Programme Associate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: assisting in the preparation of project documents, workplans, and supporting materials by compiling and organizing relevant information and data; supporting the routine implementation of assigned projects, including coordination with national counterparts and project personnel; tracking the delivery of activities and project inputs; monitoring programme and project implementation by collecting and organizing data on progress against workplans; preparing status reports, progress updates, and other reporting outputs; organizing monitoring visits, review meetings, and evaluation activities; maintaining programme data and records in corporate systems and internal tracking tools; supporting data verification and consistency checks for reporting purposes; maintaining documentation related to programme activities, reporting, and compliance requirements; coordinating with implementing partners on routine programme matters; providing logistical support to meetings, workshops, training, and other programme activities; and assisting in the preparation of background materials, presentations, and documentation for advocacy and communication purposes.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have completed Secondary Level Education, with a first-level university degree being desirable. Additionally, candidates should possess seven years of relevant experience in programme/project management, data handling, reporting, and coordination. Familiarity with programme support functions and proficiency in current office software applications and corporate IT systems are also required. Candidates should exemplify integrity, demonstrate commitment to UNFPA and the UN system, embrace cultural diversity, and be adaptable to change.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes completed Secondary Level Education as a minimum requirement.
