Job Overview:
The Human Resources Analyst position at UN Women is crucial for supporting the effective execution of human resource planning, recruitment, reporting, and HR administration. Reporting to the Regional HR Business Partner, the analyst will ensure alignment with UN Women’s policies and compliance standards. The role emphasizes a client-focused and collaborative approach, partnering with Programme and Operations teams across Regional and Country Offices to attract, assess, and onboard high-quality talent. The analyst will also contribute to a positive candidate and staff experience, ensuring that HR policies and strategies are implemented effectively and in compliance with UN regulations. This position requires a proactive approach to managing recruitment processes, providing guidance to hiring managers, and ensuring that all HR documentation is complete and audit-ready.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Human Resources Analyst will be responsible for several key duties, including:
  • Implementing HR policies and strategies in compliance with UN rules and regulations, providing staff guidance on Staff Rules and Regulations, and supporting HR audits.
  • Facilitating and coordinating recruitment processes, managing recruitment and selection in coordination with hiring managers, drafting job descriptions, screening candidates, and participating in interview panels.
  • Ensuring recruitment processes are documented for submission to the Central Review Board (CRB) and managing job reclassifications and position creation processes.
  • Collecting and verifying internal data on HR matters to contribute to HR reports and presentations, participating in workforce planning activities, and liaising with HQ and finance teams for budget alignment.
  • Providing HR capacity building and knowledge sharing by identifying capacity gaps and designing training for clients on key HR processes.
  • Performing other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced (Masters) university degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, Public Administration, or other relevant social sciences. Alternatively, a first-level university degree in similar fields combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Additionally, candidates should have a strong understanding of HR administration, processes, and policies, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced (Masters) university degree in relevant fields such as Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, Public Administration, or other social sciences. A first-level university degree in similar fields may be accepted if combined with two additional years of qualifying experience, demonstrating flexibility in educational requirements based on experience.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of progressively relevant experience in human resources management, focusing on workforce planning, recruitment, talent management, and contract administration. Experience working with an international multicultural organization is required, and work experience within the UN system is desirable. Proficiency in using computers and office software packages, as well as experience with web-based management systems, is essential. Familiarity with modern web-based ERP systems, preferably Oracle Cloud, is also desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish, is considered desirable and may enhance a candidate's profile.
