Job Overview:
As a Project Manager for Communications & Business Process Improvement, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the Information Technology (IT) department operates efficiently and effectively. This position is situated within the Strategy, Planning & Management (SPM) Team, which serves as the central hub for connecting strategy, planning, and operations within IT. Your responsibilities will include managing the department's communications portfolio, overseeing continuous improvement initiatives, and coordinating departmental events. You will collaborate closely with IT leadership and cross-divisional stakeholders to maintain alignment with the Foundation's priorities, manage the rhythm of business operations, and support disaster recovery and business continuity planning. This role is designed for a versatile communications and operations professional who can effectively keep IT informed and connected while driving process improvements and fostering a culture of inclusion.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Your duties will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including:
  • **Communications Management & Content Creation**: You will support the development and implementation of a departmental communications model, which includes creating a content strategy, maintaining an editorial calendar, and ensuring channel governance. You will lead the annual report effort, draft and edit communications for various audiences, and manage the accomplishments tracking process to ensure data quality.
  • **Rhythm of Business, Events & Culture**: You will maintain the IT Rhythm of Business calendar, ensuring timely communication with stakeholders. You will coordinate department-wide events, manage logistics, and support quarterly culture surveys and diversity discussions.
  • **Knowledge Management & Operations**: You will be responsible for maintaining departmental SharePoint sites, managing onboarding checklists, and overseeing software API integrations. You will also document processes to ensure workflows are well-documented and easy to transfer.
  • **Process Improvement**: You will identify and implement opportunities for process improvement across shared workflows and tools, supporting additional time-bound projects as needed.

Required Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, along with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Strong written communication skills are essential, particularly in writing for organizational and executive audiences. You should have experience in collaborating with stakeholders to establish a team-wide communications strategy that balances risk, efficiency, affordability, and user experience. Additionally, you should have experience managing editorial calendars, content strategies, and channel governance, as well as metrics tracking and data synthesis. Exceptional organizational and project management skills are required, along with the ability to manage multiple cross-functional workstreams and meet deadlines independently. Strong facilitation skills and experience in event planning are also necessary.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree is required for this position, although equivalent experience may be considered. The educational background should ideally include coursework or training in communications, project management, or a related field that supports the responsibilities of the role.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience in communications, project management, or a related field. This experience should include managing complex projects, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and developing effective communication strategies. Familiarity with event planning and coordination is also important, as is the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in various situations.

Additional Notes:
This position is a limited-term role for 12 months, and relocation assistance will not be provided. The salary range for this role is between $118,200 to $177,200 USD, with higher ranges for positions located in Seattle and Washington D.C. The Foundation emphasizes a mission-driven approach to compensation, balancing competitive pay with its overarching goals. New hires typically fall between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range, depending on their skills and experience.
