Job Overview: The position of International Expert for Violence Against Women Survey involves providing technical and methodological support to the Albanian National Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) for the design and implementation of a national survey on violence against women (VAW). Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the International Expert include:
Providing overall technical and methodological leadership for the VAW survey, ensuring alignment with Eurostat and UN guidelines.
Reviewing and guiding the development of the survey sample strategy and questionnaire.
Supporting INSTAT in developing ethical protocols and training packages for field staff.
Conducting stakeholder consultations to inform survey objectives and methodology.
Guiding pilot testing of survey instruments and making necessary adjustments.
Assisting in the development of a tabulation plan and draft analytical report.
Participating in the dissemination of survey findings to stakeholders, including policymakers and partners.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced degree (Master) in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Development Studies, Human Rights, Sociology, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted. The position requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in human rights, social inclusion, or gender-based violence, with at least 7 years focused on research and statistical processes in the area of GBV/VAW. Experience leading household surveys on GBV/VAW at international or national levels is essential, along with familiarity with Eurostat and EIGE methodological requirements.
Educational Background: An advanced degree (Master) in relevant fields such as Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Development Studies, or Human Rights is required. A first-level university degree in combination with additional qualifying experience may also be considered. The educational background should reflect a strong foundation in gender issues and statistical methodologies.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in human rights, social inclusion, or gender-based violence, with at least 7 years specifically in research and statistical processes related to GBV/VAW. Candidates should have experience leading household surveys and familiarity with international survey methodologies for measuring gender-based violence. Previous training or facilitation experience in conducting surveys on GBV/VAW is also necessary.
