Established to support countries in their development efforts, UNDP focuses on building policies, leadership skills, and institutional capabilities to foster resilience and sustainable development. The organization is committed to helping the Government and the people of Mongolia achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and other national priorities through capacity development, knowledge sharing, and partnerships. UNDP aims to improve the lives of the most vulnerable populations in Mongolia, ensuring equality, dignity, and opportunity for all. The organization collaborates with various stakeholders, including government entities, civil society, the private sector, and development partners, to support Mongolia's vision for national development. The final product will be bilingual, produced in both English and Mongolian, and will combine text with photography, infographics, and human interest stories to present UNDP's journey in Mongolia. The designer will be responsible for proposing a creative design concept that aligns with UNDP branding and the anniversary theme, ensuring a consistent visual style throughout the publication.

  • Designing infographics, graphic elements, and visual highlights to maximize visual engagement and storytelling.
  • Creating the full bilingual publication (in English and Mongolian) and ensuring it is suitable for both print and digital formats.
  • Communicating with the UNDP team at least once per week to incorporate feedback and revise designs as needed.
  • Focusing on visual interpretation, layout, and presentation while all content (text and images) will be provided by UNDP Mongolia.
  • Delivering a final publication that is expected to range from 50 to 100 pages, including cover, copyright, disclaimer pages, chapter dividers, and the three main sections.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory.
  • Experience in creating visually compelling publications, infographics, and layouts.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with the UNDP team and incorporate feedback.

Educational Background:
A degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with relevant certifications or equivalent experience in graphic design may also be considered.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience in graphic design, particularly in creating publications or marketing materials. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is advantageous, as it demonstrates an understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of such projects.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, as the publication will be produced in English and Mongolian. Knowledge of Mongolian is highly desirable, as it will facilitate the design process and ensure cultural relevance in the publication.
