Job Overview:
The Mobile Application Developer will play a crucial role in the day-to-day development activities of the application development team. This position involves the design, testing, development, and deployment of eUNRWA solutions, which include web applications and interfaces that interact with both internal and external partner systems. The developer will be expected to coordinate with various units within the Digital Impact, Technology and Innovation Department (DITID) to provide technical solutions that ensure high performance and compliance with defined standards. The role requires a proactive approach to implementing software solutions that are optimized and efficient, catering to all business processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The specific outputs and tasks for this position include, but are not limited to: developing and maintaining cross-platform mobile applications using React Native; building reusable components and implementing state management solutions such as Redux or Context API; integrating mobile applications with RESTful APIs and third-party services; ensuring application performance, security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, and responsiveness across multiple devices; collaborating with UI/UX teams to deliver intuitive and user-friendly mobile interfaces; writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented front-end code; conducting code reviews and mentoring junior developers; troubleshooting, debugging, and enhancing existing mobile applications; preparing technical documentation and user guides; participating in agile ceremonies and providing regular progress updates; and creating, maintaining, and troubleshooting build and deployment pipelines.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree from an accredited educational institution in computer sciences, information technology, or a related discipline. Additionally, a minimum of 6 years of experience in front-end or mobile development (Android, iOS) is required. Proven experience with React Native and JavaScript/TypeScript is essential, along with experience in integrating mobile apps with RESTful APIs and third-party services. Familiarity with secure authentication methods, such as OAuth 2.0 and token-based authentication, is also necessary. Candidates should have experience integrating native device features, such as camera, GPS/location services, and push notifications, as well as a strong knowledge of mobile UI development and component-based architectures. Familiarity with mobile build tools and ecosystems, such as Xcode and Android Studio, is also expected.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree from an accredited institution in computer sciences, information technology, or a related field. This foundational education is critical for understanding the technical aspects of mobile application development and ensuring that the candidate is equipped with the necessary skills to perform effectively in this role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 6 years of experience in front-end or mobile development, specifically with a focus on Android and iOS platforms. Candidates should have a proven track record of working with React Native and JavaScript/TypeScript, as well as experience in integrating mobile applications with RESTful APIs and third-party services. This level of experience is essential to ensure that the candidate can handle the complexities of mobile application development and contribute effectively to the team.

Languages:
Fluency in both Arabic and English is required for this position, as these are the working languages of UNRWA. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication within the team and with external partners, ensuring that all technical documentation and user guides are accessible to a diverse audience.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy is based in UNRWA Headquarters in Amman, Jordan. The selected candidate will receive a monthly remuneration equivalent to A16 Step 1, amounting to JOD 1,190.43 for every fully completed month. The duration of the contract extends until the end of 2026, with the possibility of extension subject to the availability of funds, continuing need, and satisfactory performance. The role operates under the overall supervision of the Product Lead for eUNRWA within the Digital Impact, Technology and Innovation Department (DITID). It is important to note that the United Nations does not charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process, including application, interview, or training.
