Job Overview: The Intake Assessment Assistant will report directly to the DIOS Intake Investigator and is responsible for assisting in the organization and administration of the Agency's misconduct intake process. This role involves assessing allegations of misconduct, preparing written assessments, conducting inquiries and interviews, and ensuring the confidentiality and accuracy of the evidence gathered. The Assistant will also support the UNRWA Hotline Officer in managing complaints and maintaining appropriate records across all field offices. The Assistant will be expected to perform various tasks as required, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the intake process.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Intake Assessment Assistant include:
Assisting the Central Intake Unit (CIU) Investigations Officer in organizing and administering the Agency's misconduct intake process.
Preparing and drafting written assessments of allegations of misconduct, including breaches of neutrality, and clearly outlining the available information.
Conducting information-based inquiries and interviews with diligence to ensure confidentiality and accuracy of evidence gathered, while maintaining impartiality in conclusions.
Supporting the UNRWA Hotline Officer in handling complaints and ensuring that complaints across all field offices are appropriately maintained and registered.
Registering complaints of non-misconduct received by DIOS in the designated complaint registry and providing regular updates to the DIOS Investigation Officer on data statistics.
Performing other tasks as required to support the intake process and contribute to the agency's mission.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the Intake Assessment Assistant position include:
A university degree from an accredited educational institution in Law, Investigations, Human Resources, Management, Communication, Business, or a related discipline.
Experience working in the United Nations is desirable, particularly in intake or investigation-related disciplines.
Strong drafting skills in both English and Arabic are essential, along with the ability to operate personal computers and work with MS Office and database applications.
Candidates must demonstrate competencies in planning and organizing, analyzing, following instructions and procedures, coping with pressure and setbacks, and technological awareness.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a university degree from an accredited educational institution in a relevant field such as Law, Investigations, Human Resources, Management, Communication, Business, or a related discipline. Experience: The position requires candidates to have relevant work experience, particularly in roles related to intake or investigations. Additional Notes: The Intake Assessment Assistant position is offered as a Limited Duration Contract (LDC), Band D, initially for six months with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability. The monthly basic salary for this position is JD 729.70, and additional benefits include compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave, and a dependency allowance if applicable. The role may require working outside normal duty hours and on a call basis. Preference will be given to registered Palestine refugees and candidates who can assist the agency in achieving gender parity.
