Job Overview: The Regional Programme Analyst will play a crucial role in managing all UNFPA programs in South Ethiopia, particularly focusing on building adaptive resilience for youth affected by conflict and climate crises. The analyst will be responsible for planning and coordinating the implementation of activities at the regional and district levels, ensuring that UNFPA's mandate is represented effectively. The role requires monitoring results achieved during implementation, guiding the application of systems and procedures, and developing enhancements as necessary. The analyst will also be involved in training relevant staff on issues related to adolescents and youth development, sexual and reproductive health, gender-based violence, and youth empowerment, particularly in humanitarian contexts.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties of the Regional Programme Analyst include planning and coordinating activities at regional and district levels, representing UNFPA's mandate in various forums, assisting regional counterparts in developing strategy documents, and maintaining collaborative relationships with stakeholders. The analyst will work closely with implementing partners to identify and address bottlenecks in program implementation, provide training to staff on relevant issues, promote the participation of vulnerable groups in program monitoring, and provide technical support for the implementation of UNFPA's country programs. Regular joint visits with partners, participation in rapid assessments during crises, organizing coordinating meetings, and preparing comprehensive reports on program implementation are also key responsibilities. The analyst will ensure timely and appropriate implementation and monitoring of programs, providing technical assistance to partners as needed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree in public health, social science, behavioral science, social work, or social psychology. They should have 0 to 3 years of progressive experience in areas such as adolescents and youth development, sexual and reproductive health, gender-based violence, or youth peace and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security. Proficiency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of any other UN language is considered an advantage.
