Duties and Responsibilities: The Caseworker's responsibilities include providing comprehensive case management services to enrolled clients, conducting intake assessments to evaluate client needs, and developing individualized self-sufficiency plans in collaboration with clients. They will provide direct support through referrals and advocacy, receive referrals for case management, and participate in case conference meetings to ensure continuity of care. The Caseworker will assess client needs and create Family Self-Sufficiency Plans (FSSPs) and Individual Employability Plans (IEPs) to help clients overcome employment barriers and achieve stable employment. They will monitor client progress, document interactions in accordance with program requirements, and input client information into databases for tracking and reporting purposes. Building and maintaining relationships with area service providers is essential, as is the ability to travel to meet clients and transport materials as needed. The Caseworker may also conduct outreach to inform service providers and refugees about available programs, complete eligibility screenings for referrals, assist with benefits applications, and ensure that all services provided are linguistically appropriate. They will participate in program meetings and staff development activities, adhere to organizational policies, and perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Caseworker position should possess an undergraduate degree in Social Work or a related field, although comparable work experience may be considered as a substitute. A minimum of 2 years of case management experience in a social services environment is required, with a preference for experience working with vulnerable or underserved populations. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, possess strong organizational skills, and have experience in public speaking or presentations. The ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with diverse partners and clients in a cross-cultural environment is essential. Additionally, candidates must be willing and able to drive a 15-passenger van and demonstrate strong attention to detail and time management skills. Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently as well as part of a team are also important.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes an undergraduate degree in Social Work or a similar field. While a degree is strongly preferred, candidates with relevant work experience in lieu of a degree may also be considered. Languages: Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory for this position. Additionally, bilingual abilities in languages such as Spanish, Dari, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Arabic, French, or other languages commonly spoken by refugees and immigrants in Arizona are preferred. Additional Notes: The working environment for this position includes a combination of standard office settings, remote work, and fieldwork within the service delivery area. The role may require occasional weekend and evening work, and candidates should be able to lift between 35 to 50 pounds, which may include furniture, household supplies, and food boxes. The compensation for this position is set at $20.97 per hour, with variations based on factors such as the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget considerations.
