Job Overview:
The National United Nations Volunteer (UNV) for Digital Inclusion will play a crucial role in implementing connectivity initiatives aimed at improving digital access for children in Tajikistan. This position is vital for ensuring effective planning, coordination, and execution of digital inclusion activities. The UNV will serve as the focal point for stakeholder engagement and operational execution, dedicating approximately 75% of their time to Tajikistan while also providing support to neighboring countries such as Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. The role requires a blend of project management, stakeholder coordination, and user-focused execution to ensure that UNICEF's connectivity tools are effectively utilized and continuously improved based on user feedback. The UNV will report directly to the Programme Manager within the Digital Inclusion HQ team and will work closely with UNICEF Tajikistan's Programme teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Account Management (25%): Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, serve as the primary contact for users, coordinate work planning activities, support strategic partnership development, draft communication materials, manage project risks, and promote project visibility.
  • Opportunity Development & Identification (25%): Provide project management scoping for new requests, gather local intelligence, identify strategic partnership opportunities, and track government priorities.
  • Delivery & Project Management (30%): Co-design delivery strategies, manage end-to-end project activities, ensure timely progress against milestones, support procurement-related work, and maintain documentation of project implementation.
  • Customer Success (20%): Provide training and support for government and UNICEF staff, oversee user monitoring, document lessons learned, and contribute to impact summaries and case studies.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong project management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record in stakeholder engagement. They should demonstrate flexibility, professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to continuous learning. Experience in digital inclusion or connectivity initiatives is highly desirable, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as international development, communications, project management, or a related discipline is required. Advanced degrees are preferred but not mandatory.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 2-3 years of relevant experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, or digital inclusion initiatives. Experience working with international organizations or in a UN context is an advantage.

Languages:
Fluency in Tajik and English is mandatory. Proficiency in Russian is highly desirable, as it is widely used in Tajikistan and within UNICEF operations.

Additional Notes:
The position is a full-time role based in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The UNV will be required to meet specific vaccine requirements related to COVID-19 prior to appointment.
