Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Digital Project Manager/Coordinator include acting as a coordinator for the language team, ensuring that translation and review timelines are integrated into overall project schedules. The role involves facilitating workflows between language teams and content originators to manage turnaround times, priorities, and quality assurance steps. The coordinator will ensure the harmonization of terminology, style guide usage, and editorial standards across language versions. Additionally, the position requires mapping existing workflows across various teams, developing and implementing standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for recurring processes, maintaining a centralized repository of project documentation, and serving as the focal point for project management and collaboration tools. The coordinator will also support onboarding staff tools, evaluate new tools or platforms, track deliverables and deadlines, facilitate regular coordination meetings, and prepare agendas and meeting notes.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a master’s degree in journalism, communication, international relations, social sciences, or a related field. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree combined with two additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the Master’s degree. A minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience in project management within a communications, media, or international organization setting is required. Experience using project management and collaboration tools such as Trello or SharePoint is essential, along with familiarity with UN system processes and terminology being desirable. Experience with translation management systems, content management systems (CMS), or digital asset management (DAM) platforms is also desirable.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a master’s degree in a relevant field such as journalism, communication, international relations, or social sciences. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree may be considered if they have additional relevant experience. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of communication and project management within an international context.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience in project management, specifically within communications, media, or international organizations. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to manage projects effectively, coordinate teams, and deliver high-quality results in a timely manner.
