Job Overview:
The Communications Analyst position is situated within the UNV Regional Offices, which provide oversight and strategic guidance to UNV Field Units. The role is crucial for the implementation of the corporate communications strategy and involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including UN agencies, civil society, and media. The Communications Analyst is responsible for developing and executing communication strategies that promote UNV's mission and enhance public outreach. This includes managing digital communications, publications, and campaigns to engage stakeholders and raise awareness about UNV's goals. The position requires a proactive approach to communication, ensuring that UNV's work is effectively represented and understood by diverse audiences.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Communications Analyst will implement internal and external communication strategies, conduct communications needs assessments, and draft outreach strategies aligned with regional priorities. Responsibilities include managing the regional office's publications strategy, developing storylines for publications, and coordinating publication activities. The Analyst will also provide technical support for digital communications, including social media and website management, and implement campaigns to engage stakeholders. Additionally, the role involves leading knowledge management efforts, providing training to UNV staff, and ensuring effective communication with journalists and media outlets. The incumbent may supervise communications personnel and is expected to contribute to the overall functioning of the office.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Communication, Journalism, International Relations, Public Administration, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with two additional years of relevant experience will be considered. The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience at the national or international level in public relations, advocacy, or communications. Proficiency in office software and web-based management systems is essential, along with experience in content management systems and social media. Previous experience in a multilateral or international organization is highly desirable, as is experience in coordinating outreach activities and marketing for international organizations.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in Communication, Journalism, International Relations, Public Administration, or a related field is required. Candidates with a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) combined with two years of qualifying experience will also be considered. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of communication in an international context and for effectively managing outreach and public relations efforts.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience for candidates with a master's degree, or 4 years for those with a bachelor's degree. This experience should be at the national or international level in public relations, advocacy, or communications. Candidates should have a strong background in using digital tools and managing communications across various platforms, including social media and web-based systems. Experience in strategic implementation of communication initiatives and outreach activities is also important, as is familiarity with the workings of multilateral organizations.

Languages:
Fluency in English, Arabic, and French is required for this position. Knowledge of another UN language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders and audiences.
