Job Overview:
The Online Volunteer Content Creator will play a crucial role in the IAVE–IBM Reskilling Revolution Africa (RRA) – SkillsBuild project, which aims to provide free digital and professional skills training to young people across Africa. The project targets 35,000 learners from Kenya, Ethiopia, and South Africa, and relies on engaging digital content to motivate learners and support their development. The Online Volunteer Content Creator will be responsible for developing high-quality multimedia content that complements the SkillsBuild online curriculum, ensuring that it is accessible and engaging for youth and adult learners. This role is essential for enhancing digital inclusion and learner engagement, ultimately contributing to the success of thousands of young people across Africa.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Online Volunteer Content Creator will have several key responsibilities, including:
  • Creating short, simplified explainers to help learners understand concepts from SkillsBuild courses.
  • Designing motivational messages, infographics, and learner prompts to encourage course completion.
  • Developing visual content such as banners, quote cards, and educational graphics.
  • Producing short video clips or reels, depending on the volunteer's skills.
  • Creating career tips, soft skills guides, and job-readiness posts tailored to African youth.
  • Packaging learner success stories to highlight progress and inspire others.
  • Ensuring all content is youth-friendly, accessible, and aligned with the project’s branding guidelines.
  • Collaborating with facilitators and project coordinators to identify priority content areas.
  • Submitting content in agreed formats, such as Canva links, PNG/JPG, MP4, or PDF. 1
  • Reworking or adapting existing content specifically for the Kenyan context.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess strong creative skills, a good understanding of digital content creation, and the ability to communicate effectively with a youth audience. Familiarity with graphic design tools such as Canva or similar platforms is essential. The candidate should also have a passion for education and volunteerism, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with others in a virtual environment.

Educational Background:
