Job Overview:
The Associate Programme Officer (NAHU) plays a crucial role within the Division of Human Health at the IAEA. This position involves serving as a focal point for outreach activities, contributing to the implementation of the Division's regular program, and providing analytical support on various tasks. The officer will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing information for media articles and other communication documents, collaborating with technical experts, and maintaining a divisional database. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying suitable grants and coordinating outreach activities, ensuring that the Division's objectives are met effectively. The Associate Programme Officer will also be involved in drafting correspondence and developing outreach materials, which are essential for promoting the Division's initiatives and achievements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Associate Programme Officer (NAHU) include assisting the team in delivering programmatic activities such as Coordinated Research Projects (CRPs), conferences, and flagship initiatives. The officer will identify and follow up on suitable grants by screening professional online platforms and keeping abreast of relevant program activities. They will conduct non-scientific editing of grant write-ups according to corporate guidelines and coordinate the development of IAEA cooperation agreements. Additionally, the officer will provide technical support for collaborative activities with other organizations, ensuring timely updates of Practical Arrangements, Collaborating Centre designations, and Memoranda of Understanding. The role also involves preparing and quality-assuring internal and external publications, maintaining the divisional database, coordinating outreach activities, and drafting correspondence according to corporate communications guidelines.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a Bachelor's Degree in management, social sciences, communications, international relations, or other relevant fields. A Master's degree is considered an asset. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience in developing and reviewing multimedia content and articles at a national or international level. Experience in preparing scientific or technical manuscripts and advocacy materials is essential, as is the ability to establish and maintain good relationships with internal and external counterparts. The candidate should be a team player, capable of working in a multicultural environment, and possess excellent oral and written command of English. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish is an asset.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as management, social sciences, communications, or international relations. A Master's degree is advantageous and may enhance the candidate's qualifications for the position.

Experience:
The Associate Programme Officer should have at least two years of relevant experience in developing and reviewing multimedia content and articles. This experience should ideally be at both national and international levels, demonstrating the candidate's ability to work in diverse environments and contribute effectively to the organization's objectives.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is English, with an excellent oral and written command required. Knowledge of additional IAEA official languages, including Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish, is considered beneficial and may enhance the candidate's application.

Additional Notes:
The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package, including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at approximately US $56,046, subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance. Additional benefits include a variable post adjustment, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses, six weeks of annual leave, home leave travel, pension plan, and health insurance.
